I’ve been speed modelling parts with the printer running 24/7 since inception.
There are currently somewhere around 75-100 individual pieces modelled in my source file. Mostly only building on what I’m considering the X axis, but it’s Freeform so I’ve used them to build out Y.. anyways…
Connectors, Extenders, Couplers, Links, Sleeves, Feets, Plugs, Panels, Hooks… and on and on.
In a moments time, I will have a mass drop folder of Standardized Lengths for building up this architecture in XYZ, as 1U, Half U, Small Pedal Board, and Mini sizes. I will do my best to keep my experimental and untested models separate from the ones I’ve used.
As you can imagine, adding a dovetail or pins to something, after dialling in the perfect(for me) clearance, makes modelling add-ons almost as easy as thinking about it.. so they pile up while the printer is churning.
Working on axis A, B, and C… but as the use cases come… A is interesting as a rotation along the X axis, B along the Y… Turning/4th Axis stuff, C along the Z.. 🤷🏻♂️ like a Ball Vice but with set perimeters..
Excited to see what this evolves into.
Shown in the photos is my temporary coaster holders for the Toronto Guitar Expo.. the coaster serve the purpose of an inexpensive physical item to walk away with that is made from the same material (Fiberon PET-GF15) I manufacture (most of) my printed tooling in, while also being temperature resistant to your hottest coffee.
As I’m printed the last remaining pieces for these, I’ll mention it is rigidly held together with joinery, and can come apart and be reassembled into a NeuralDSP Quad Cortex Stand without tools.
